Before setting out to create a specialty to attract more patients to your optometric practice, it’s important to know if you’re in the right demographic for it. This may seem obvious, but you’d be surprised how many practices do it backwards. They decide what specialties they want to provide, then get to spending a lot of time and money building the specialty or specialties and marketing them, without taking into consideration whether or not there are enough patients to support it.
Be mindful of this! Do some research – there are plenty of resources in your town or city and surrounding areas to give you both the demographics and buying behaviors of your prospective, ideal patients.
