Dr. Colbey W. Freeman recommends providing a neurological exam to rule out these possible complications from COVID-19 for these patients.
For my Optometry colleagues, when you discover your patients have recovered from (or you suspect they may have been exposed to) the coronavirus disease, remember to refer them to a neurologist if they also suffer from diabetes and/or hypertension.
This is another opportunity to share your medical expertise with your eye care patients.
